We are at the forefront of Regenerative Medicine. Regenerative Medicine is a relatively new field of medicine that brings many different disciplines together to find solutions to challenging problems to treat and cure disease. It is based on using the body’s own ability to heal itself from injury and disease by utilizing treatments that use cellular manipulation and in some cases, advanced technologies.
Prolotherapy or Regenerative Injection Therapy (RIT) is a non-surgical treatment for many chronic and painful soft-tissue related musculoskeletal conditions. Prolotherapy or RIT is a method of promoting natural healing of soft tissue by using the body’s own natural growth factors.
Prolotherapy is not a new treatment, but rather one that has been around for over 60 years. It is considered an alternative to traditional corticosteroid injections, oral medications, and in some cases surgery. The scientific literature has shown Prolotherapy to be safe and efficacious for many orthopedic soft tissue related (ligaments, tendons) disorders.
Unlike many treatments offered in musculoskeletal medicine, Prolotherapy has very little risk and offers great potential.
Prolotherapy treatments are performed in our Westchase office by John Shim, M.D, Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon.
Why choose our practice?

While many rush to do surgery, our philosophy is about what is BEST for the patient. We focus on the providing outstanding patient care, education, and consider ALL treatment options.
Prolotherapy is an alternative treatment for many musculoskeletal and soft tissue disorders. In some cases, Prolotherapy treatments may be offered despite a lack of credible scientific evidence in the current literature. No guarantees can be made as to the outcome of treatment with Prolotherapy. As with any procedure, there are always potential risks and benefits.
